Here is the acrylic tank that I built in action. I shoot an air jet from my air compressor into the tank.

This is the same as the jet from the converging nozzle but is viewed from the side. I cut out part of the bucket and replaced it with polycarbonate. It is played back in full in real time and then 32 times slower for the first part of the video.

First attempts at Schlieren

I just got my spherical mirror. Here is one of my first attempts at Schlieren. This is imaging the heat that is coming from a candle.

Supersonic air jets into water

I wanted to see what it would be like to shoot an air jet into water. This first video is a converging nozzle and will have sonic flow at the exit.
